Rules of Engagement

FOR INSTRUCTORS AT APISEC UNIVERSITY

1. Vendor Neutrality

  • Courses must remain vendor-neutral, focusing on principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Abstain from promoting or criticizing specific vendors, products, and services.
  • Commercial tools/services can be used for demonstration purposes, but to suggest that students use a tool it must have a free tier.

2. Educational Focus

  • Courses must be designed to be purely educational, aimed at providing valuable knowledge and skills to students.
  • Refrain from using course time to advertise any commercial products or services.
  • When you record your course, ensure that all course content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to the subject matter.

3. Platform Branding

  • APIsec University branding must be featured during the course introduction and conclusion.
  • Upon request, APIsec University will provide support for adhering to branding guidelines/requirements.

4. Intellectual Property

  • Respect intellectual property rights, ensuring that all course materials are original or properly credited.
  • Avoid using or distributing copyrighted materials without appropriate permissions or licenses.

5. Course Improvement and Updates

  • APIsec University may occasionally ask for an update to a section of a course. If you are not willing to make an update, APIsec University may update the written course content and/or videos.

6. Right to Remove Content

  • Instructors have the right to request the removal of their content from APIsec University.
  • To initiate the removal process, instructors must provide written notice at least 90 days in advance to allow APIsec University sufficient time to retire the course.

7. Right of Referral

  • Instructors may refer students to additional resources that enhance the learning experience.
  • Instructors are permitted to mention the company they work for and the work that they perform in their instructor profile, course introduction, and course conclusion.

8. Release and Promotion

  • APIsec University will release the course at our discretion and will communicate a planned release date with the instructor upon course completion.
  • APIsec University will promote the course using reasonable judgment about the timing and methods used for promotion.

9. Professional Conduct

  • Maintain high standards of professionalism in all interactions with students and fellow instructors.
  • If an instructor does not adhere to these rules of engagement, then APIsec University reserves the right to remove content and/or the instructor from the
    platform.
  • Treat all students with respect and consideration, fostering an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
  • Ensure all interactions are free from bias, discrimination, and harassment.
By adhering to these rules of engagement, instructors will contribute to a high-quality, vendor-neutral, and educationally focused learning experience at APIsec University.
